Somalia, China Discuss Security and Defence Cooperation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, met today with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, H.E. Wang Yu.

The meeting focused on the Government’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, recent gains achieved, strengthening defence relations and cooperation between Somalia and China, and enhancing the capacity of the country’s security institutions.

Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi thanked the Government of the People’s Republic of China for its continued support and its steadfast position in support of the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
