Somalia, Algeria Move to Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation

Algiers, (SONNA) — The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Algeria, H.E. Yusuf Ahmed Hassan, held talks with Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Prof. Kamel Rezig, focusing on strengthening trade relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting discussed increasing the presence of Algerian products in the Somali market, exploring opportunities for Algerian exports and identifying ways to meet market demand in Somalia.

The two sides also discussed establishing a Somalia-Algeria Business Council aimed at strengthening ties between business communities, promoting joint initiatives and facilitating greater trade cooperation between the two countries.
