Somalia Accelerates Preparations for Second Somalia-Uganda Joint Permanent Commission

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somali government is accelerating preparations for the second session of the Joint Permanent Commission between the governments of Somalia and Uganda.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Adan Haadoow, today chaired a preliminary meeting with the Office of the President of Somalia, in preparation for the second session of the Somalia-Uganda Joint Permanent Commission and the Joint Business Forum, which will be held in Mogadishu from 20 to 23 October 2026.
Senior officials from government institutions participated in the meeting and agreed on the roles of the institutions, coordination procedures, and the provisions of the agreements to be signed.
The Commission will focus on expanding trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the governments of Somalia and Uganda.
