Somali Strategic Communication Forum 2026 to Open in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somali Strategic Communication Forum 2026 is set to open in Mogadishu tomorrow, bringing together government institutions, ministers of information from federal member states, media organisations, civil society, development partners and other key stakeholders.

Organised by the Federal Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the second edition of the forum will be held under the theme “Shaping Somalia’s Media Future in the Digital Era.”

The forum will focus on strengthening strategic communication coordination, improving public communication and building public trust, while examining the future direction of Somalia’s media sector.

Discussions will cover the development of the country’s media sector, government-public relations, opportunities presented by technology and social media, and challenges related to misinformation and disinformation.

The forum will also address media ethics, evolving trends in modern media, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism, media and strategic communication.
