Somali Senate Conducts First Reading of the Bill Establishing National Meteorological Agency

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Upper House of Somalia’s Federal Parliament today conducted the first reading of the Bill establishing the Somalia National Meteorological Agency, presented by Deputy Minister H.E. Hussein Haji Ali.‬

The Agency will strengthen weather and climate forecasting, data management and early warning systems, helping Somalia better prepare for droughts, floods, extreme heat and other climate risks, while supporting key sectors of the economy.‬
