Somali President, Speaker Congratulate New Galmudug Parliament Leadership

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, have sent congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the Galmudug House of Representatives: Speaker Mr. Hussein Mohamed Nur (Dhegaweyne), First Deputy Speaker Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmed Ali, and Second Deputy Speaker Mr. Mursal Abdi Adan, elected today in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug.

The President wished the new leadership success in discharging their duties with transparency and responsibility, prioritizing the public interest, unity and development, and urged them to focus on their responsibilities and work to strengthen cooperation between the institutions of the regional state and develop the work of the House.

President Hassan Sheikh commended the peaceful and democratic elections held in Galmudug's districts, noting they are an important step in advancing the country's democratic process and ensuring citizens' right to elect their leaders.

The Speaker of the House of the People wished the new leadership success in fulfilling the duties entrusted to them, urging them to prioritize strengthening legislative institutions, community unity, peace and the development of Galmudug.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening relations and cooperation between legislative bodies at the federal and regional levels, in order to advance statehood and the common interests of the Somali people.
