Somali Parliament Leadership Inspects Venue Ahead of Speaker Election

Mogadishu (SONNA) – Acting Speaker and First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Sadia Yasin Haji Samatar, accompanied by Second Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, the Speaker Election Committee, and Secretary-General of the House of the People Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle (Jaabiri), today inspected the venue prepared for tomorrow’s election of the Speaker of the House of the People.
The inspection focused on assessing the venue’s readiness, electoral procedures, and equipment ahead of the vote, with the aim of ensuring that the election is conducted smoothly, transparently, and in accordance with the rules and procedures of the House of the People.
During the inspection, the officials reviewed different sections of the venue and assessed the technical preparations and arrangements for the election, including the voting system, areas designated for the Election Committee, and equipment prepared for lawmakers.
Acting Speaker Sadia Yasin Haji Samatar emphasized the importance of conducting the election in a transparent, fair, and peaceful manner while adhering to the rules and procedures of the House of the People.
The inspection forms part of preparations to ensure that the election takes place in a secure, orderly, and transparent environment, with all necessary arrangements and resources in place.
