Somali National Media Officials Depart for Training in China

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mohamud, bid farewell to Somali national media officials departing for China to attend a 21-day training programme.

The participants include officials from the Ministry of Information, federal government media offices, Federal Member States and the Banadir Regional Administration.

The training will focus on modern media, artificial intelligence (AI), emergency management and combating misinformation to strengthen the knowledge and professional skills of Somali media personnel.

Minister Abdifatah urged participants to make the most of the programme and apply the knowledge gained to modernise Somali media and improve the quality of government communications.

The Ministry expressed its appreciation to the Government of China for its continued support in developing Somali media professionals and strengthening bilateral cooperation in media and modern technology.
