Somali Army Land Forces Commander Visits Baidoa to Review Security Operations

Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army Land Forces, Gen. Sahal Abdullahi Omar, accompanied by senior SNA officers, arrived in Baidoa, the interim administrative capital of Southwest State.

The commander was received at Shaati Gaduud Airport by the Commander of the SNA 60th Division, Col. Isxaaq Adan (Isxaaq Berdaale), and other SNA officers. He also received a guard of honour from units of the Somali National Army.

Following the reception, Gen. Sahal and the accompanying officers held a meeting with commanders of the 60th Division and SNA forces operating in Baidoa, focusing on the condition of the troops and efforts to accelerate security operations.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the armed forces, boost troop morale and accelerate operations against terrorist groups operating in areas of Southwest State.
