Somali Army, International Partners Kill 26 Al-Shabaab Militants in Middle Shabelle Airstrikes

Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Somali National Armed Forces, in coordination with international partners, conducted airstrikes targeting locations occupied by Al-Shabaab militants in the Cadow Jilib, Gayfo and Cordheere areas of Middle Shabelle.

The airstrikes eliminated 26 Al-Shabaab terrorists. The strikes also destroyed an armoured vehicle and a fuel tanker used by the terrorist group to support its movements and carry out terrorist attacks.

These operations form part of the ongoing efforts of the Somali National Armed Forces to pursue Al-Shabaab leaders and militants and degrade the group's ability to organise and carry out terrorist attacks.

The Ministry of Defence expresses its appreciation to Somalia's international partners for their continued support in combating and eliminating terrorism.

The Ministry of Defence and the Command of the Somali National Armed Forces reaffirm their commitment to continuing operations targeting Al-Shabaab leaders and militants until the threat they pose to the Somali people is eliminated.
