Somali Army Conducts Security Operation in Lower Shabelle

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somali National Army, particularly the 27th and 17th Ground Forces Brigades, conducted a security operation in areas between Sabiid, Caanoole and Bariire in Lower Shabelle region.

During the operation, the forces worked to prevent threats posed by Al-Shabaab militants against civilians, particularly farmers living in the area who have been targeted for extortion.

The Somali National Army also conducted mine searches along roads connecting the areas to prevent explosive devices from being used to harm civilians travelling on the roads.

The Somali National Army continues to work to safeguard the security of Somali citizens and counter Al-Shabaab, which poses a threat to the lives and future of the Somali people.
