Somali Air Force Commander Meets Senior Pakistan Air Force Delegation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali Air Force, Brig. Gen. Abdirisaaq Mahmoud Haji, received a senior delegation from the Pakistan Air Force at the Air Force Headquarters, led by Air Marshal Muhammad Sarfraz, Air Defence Commander and Deputy Commander of the Pakistan Air Force.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two air forces and priorities for rebuilding the Somali Air Force, particularly developing its structure, strengthening leadership and officers’ skills, specialised training and sharing expertise.

The two sides also discussed building sustainable capabilities that respond to Somalia’s security needs and establishing a continued cooperation mechanism to support the Somali Air Force’s future plans.

The delegation toured the Air Force Headquarters and met with officers from different sections to gain an overview of existing capabilities and priority needs.

The visit is part of efforts to strengthen defence relations between Somalia and Pakistan and support the rebuilding and development of the Somali Air Force.
