SoDMA, WHO Discuss Joint Preparedness for Health and Humanitarian Emergencies

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), H.E. Mahamuud Moallim Abdulle, met with WHO Somalia Country Representative Dr. Humphrey Karamagi to discuss strengthening cooperation on preparedness and joint responses to health and humanitarian emergencies linked to flooding, El Niño and disease outbreaks.

The meeting focused on coordinating emergency response, preparedness and planning, as well as delivering health and humanitarian support to communities affected by disasters.

H.E. Mahamuud Moallim thanked WHO for its continued contribution to Somalia’s health and humanitarian response and called for greater support to communities during humanitarian and health emergencies.
