SoDMA Commissioner, Navy Commander Discuss El Niño Preparedness

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), H.E. Mahamuud Moallim Abdulle, met with the Commander of the Somali Navy and Coast Guard, Brig. Gen. Abdiwahab Abdullahi Omar, to discuss El Niño preparedness and emergency response.

The meeting focused on the Navy’s role in protecting vulnerable communities, particularly those living along the coast and in flood-prone areas.

Brig. Gen. Abdiwahab reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to working closely with SoDMA and supporting the national preparedness plan.

H.E. Mahamuud Moallim commended the Navy’s preparedness efforts and called for greater commitment and action to help protect and save lives.
