Senior Al-Shabaab Intelligence Chief Killed in Jilib Operation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — A planned joint operation conducted by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and international partners on August 23 in Jilib District, Middle Juba Region, has killed Abdullah Hashi Labajir (Ikhlaas), the head of intelligence for Al-Shabaab militants.

Ikhlaas had served as the group’s overall intelligence chief since 2013 and was considered one of the key figures within Al-Shabaab’s senior leadership.
