Senate Committee Reviews Weather and Climate Services Authority Bill

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Senate Committee on National Resources, Infrastructure, Economy and Transport today held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H.E. Hussein Ali Haji, and other ministry officials to review the proposed legislation establishing the Weather and Climate Services Authority.

The meeting focused on addressing additional questions from committee members and providing further clarification and explanations on provisions of the proposed bill.

The Deputy Minister and accompanying officials responded in detail to the committee’s questions and provided additional explanations on provisions requiring clarification.

Senator Zaynab Ismail Mohamed, who chaired the meeting, thanked the ministry officials for their responses and explanations, stressing that consultations of this kind are important to ensure that legislation is clearly defined, understandable and aligned with the country’s needs, circumstances and national interest.
