SNA kills 14 Al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Shabelle region

Mogadishu - (SONNA) — The Danab Special Forces of the Somali National Army conducted a targeted operation against the Al-Shabaab militants in Kurtunwaarey district, Lower Shabelle region.

The operation targeted locations where Al-Shabaab terrorist leaders and militants were present. During the operation, 14 terrorists were killed.

The forces also destroyed a cache of weapons, explosives, and other equipment used by the terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against the Somali people.

This operation forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Somali National Armed Forces to eliminate the militants, who are notorious for oppressing civilians, looting property, and carrying out acts of violence and insecurity across the country.

The Ministry of Defence and the Command of the Somali National Armed Forces remain committed to continuing operations aimed at strengthening security, stability, and peace throughout Somalia.
