President Hassan: Somalia's Foreign Policy Is Fully Independent

Mogadishu(SONNA)-President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has declared that Somalia's foreign policy is now fully independent, emphasizing that the country has become an active participant in shaping influential decisions at both the regional and international levels.
Speaking at the opening of the Eighth Session of the Federal Parliament, the President stated that Somalia's political decisions are no longer determined by external actors, marking what he described as a significant milestone in the country's sovereignty and governance.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud highlighted three key pillars that have contributed to Somalia's progress, enhanced its global standing, and attracted investment: a strong and well-equipped national armed forces, adequate national resources, and a robust legal framework.
The President also noted that ongoing military operations have achieved significant successes in degrading the capabilities of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group. He reaffirmed the government's determination to continue military operations until the country is fully liberated and security is restored across Somalia.
