President Hassan Sheikh Receives Italian Business and Investment Delegation at the Presidential Palace

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received a delegation of Italian business leaders and investors at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu. The delegation was in the capital to participate in a Somalia–Italy business and investment cooperation forum.

The meeting, attended by the Italian Ambassador to Somalia, focused on strengthening economic ties and expanding trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The Italian delegation included executives from major companies, industrial firms, and investors exploring emerging business opportunities in Somalia.

President Hassan Sheikh welcomed the delegation and commended their visit, highlighting Somalia’s ongoing progress in security, economic recovery, and efforts to create a more conducive environment for international investment. He encouraged the investors to take advantage of the country’s growing opportunities, particularly in infrastructure, energy, fisheries, agriculture, manufacturing, and social services.

The President underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly climate and deepening economic partnerships that contribute to sustainable development and job creation.

For their part, the Italian business leaders and investors expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage directly with the Somali leadership. They reaffirmed their interest in exploring investment and trade prospects in Somalia, citing the country’s expanding markets and ongoing development initiatives as key areas of interest.
