President Hassan Sheikh Meets Serbian President on the Sidelines of UNGA 81st Session

NEW YORK, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a productive meeting with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81).

The two leaders continued discussions from their recent meeting in Belgrade on August 31 and September 1–2, 2026, focusing on next steps to strengthen Somalia-Serbia relations, expand bilateral cooperation, and discuss key issues affecting the Horn of Africa and the wider world.

H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the Government of Serbia for its continued understanding and cooperation with the Government of Somalia. He also welcomed opportunities to strengthen economic and security cooperation and implement joint projects of mutual benefit to the two countries.
