President Hassan Sheikh Attends Uganda’s Independence Anniversary Celebrations

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, attended celebrations in Mogadishu marking Uganda’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

President Hassan Sheikh congratulated his Ugandan counterpart, H.E. Yoweri Museveni, and the people of Uganda, reaffirming the longstanding friendship and strong partnership between Somalia and Uganda.

The President commended Uganda for its continued support for Somalia’s peace and stability, noting that Uganda has stood alongside Somalia during some of the most difficult periods in the country’s recent history.
