Parliament Speaker Congratulates Türkiye on 104th Victory Day

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Jama, has extended congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Türkiye on the occasion of Türkiye’s 104th Victory Day, observed on August 30.
The Speaker described Türkiye as a longstanding friend and brotherly partner of Somalia, noting that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s historic visit to Mogadishu in 2011 opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
He said Türkiye has since played a significant role in Somalia’s recovery and reconstruction efforts, supporting key sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, security and the development of state institutions.
The Speaker noted that bilateral relations have evolved into a strategic partnership, strengthened by agreements covering defence, economic cooperation and other areas of mutual importance.
He further emphasized that the continued friendship and cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye will remain an important pillar for peace, stability and development in Somalia and the wider East African region, with future generations expected to inherit and further strengthen the longstanding ties.
On the occasion, Speaker Abdulkadir once again conveyed his best wishes to the Government and people of Türkiye, wishing them peace, prosperity, development and lasting success.
