PM Hamza Receives Top Three Winners of International Qur’anic Recitation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, on Tuesday received three Somali students who secured the top three positions in an international Qur’anic competition recently held in Qatar.
The competition brought together 398 students from 20 countries, with Qari Abdiqani Abdulqadir Sheikh Hussein securing first place, Qari Abdirahman Qasim Mohamed taking second place, and Qari Abdirahman Ahmed Mahmoud finishing third. Their participation was facilitated by Qatar Charity.
The Prime Minister congratulated the students for their achievement and dedication to memorising the Holy Qur’an, urging them to share their knowledge by teaching others.
H.E. Hamza said the government is committed to promoting Qur’anic education and pledged to provide the three students with free education, in line with the support provided to students who achieved top positions in the national secondary school examination.
“We are proud as government leaders that you secured first, second and third places in an international competition. This is a great achievement and an honour for Somali society,” the Prime Minister said, directing the Ministry of Education to provide the students with free education.
