National Midwifery Institute Receives Medical Equipment from TIKA

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The State Minister of Health and Social Care, Dr. Maryama Mohamed Hussein, attended a ceremony in Mogadishu where the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) handed over medical equipment to the National Midwifery Institute for use in student training.

The ceremony was attended by TIKA Coordinator Mr. Zafer Eski and officials from the institute. The equipment will support practical training for midwifery students, enabling them to gain modern clinical skills before entering the health sector.

Dr. Maryama thanked TIKA for its continued support to the Ministry of Health and for responding to the Ministry’s request to provide adequate training facilities and the medical equipment needed to strengthen practical education at the institute.

She highlighted the initiative as part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen health training institutions across the country, particularly those responsible for producing skilled midwives to support maternal and childbirth services.
