National Electoral Commission Opens Registration for Political Organisations

MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced the opening of registration for political organisations, as part of its mandate to oversee the electoral process and determine the schedule for elections to both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

The Commission stated that registration will open on November 1, 2026, and close on November 22, 2026, urging all interested parties and electoral stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the electoral process and the country’s democratisation efforts.
