NIEBC Closes Submission of Candidates’ Lists for Galmudug Repeat Elections

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) has announced the closure of the submission of candidate lists for the scheduled repeat elections in Galmudug State.

The move comes as the Commission implements its electoral timetable issued on 31 August 2026 and prepares for the planned elections scheduled for 30 September 2026.

The Commission informed political associations and electoral stakeholders in Galmudug that the period for submitting lists of candidates contesting the repeat elections has officially closed.
