Minister of Agriculture Receives Ambassador of Algeria, Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdi Hayir (Maareeye), today received the Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Somalia at the Ministry's headquarters.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Algeria in the areas of agriculture, irrigation, and food security, building on the longstanding relations between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed developing irrigation systems, water resource management, agricultural research, technology, and encouraging agricultural investment.

The Minister thanked the Algerian government for its support and friendly relations with Somalia, noting the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
