Military Experts from AUSSOM Troop-Contributing Countries Meet in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Meeting of Military Experts from the AUSSOM Troop-Contributing Countries officially opened today in Mogadishu, serving as a preparatory forum for the Meeting of Chiefs of Defence Forces.
The meeting focused on developing a joint operational plan to implement the decisions of the Extraordinary Summit of AUSSOM Troop-Contributing Countries held in Kampala. The plan seeks to accelerate operations against Al-Shabaab, strengthen intelligence-sharing, and improve the coordination of military capabilities and resources.
The Chair of the Military Experts Committee, Major General Mohamed Ali Barise, said the plan would strengthen cooperation between the Somali National Armed Forces, AUSSOM and its Troop-Contributing Countries to degrade Al-Shabaab’s capabilities and reinforce security in Somalia and the wider region.
The plan prepared by the military experts was submitted to the Chiefs of Defence Forces for review and approval. It will provide the foundation for the next phase of operations against Al-Shabaab and support lasting peace and stability in Somalia and across the region.
