MFA Trains Security Institutions on Diplomatic Immunity

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Permanent Secretary, H.E. Hamza Adan Haadow, joined by the Ministry's departmental directors, opened the first-ever training of its kind on diplomatic privileges and immunities for Somalia's security institutions. The three-day programme, run by the Ministry's Diplomatic Institute, brings together officials from the CID, Traffic Police, Somali National Army, NISA, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, and security leaders nationwide.
The training covers the protections owed under the Vienna Convention to foreign diplomats in Somalia and to Somalia's own diplomats abroad. The Permanent Secretary said respecting these protections reflects Somalia's standing as a responsible member of the international community.
