Information Minister Inspects July 1 Preparations in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mahmud, today inspected preparations for the upcoming July 1 Independence and Unity Day celebrations during a visit to Waaberi District and Taleh Junction in Mogadishu.
The Minister said the Somali people remain committed to safeguarding the country’s unity and will not allow any attempts to divide the nation or its people.
“The Somali people are determined to protect their unity and will not allow the country or its people to be divided,” the Minister said.
He also noted that Somalia has made significant progress and called on citizens to continue supporting the Federal Government in its efforts to confront those seeking to undermine the country’s peace and security.
The National Committee for Independence and Unity Week, of which the Minister is a member, is intensifying final preparations for the nationwide celebrations marking Somalia’s Independence and Unity Day on July 1.
