Information Minister Closes 2nd National Strategic Communication Forum in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdulfatah Qasim Mahmoud, on Tuesday concluded the 2nd National Strategic Communication Forum, which was held over two days in Mogadishu.
Organised by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism. The two-day forum focused on the Media Relations Strategy, under this year’s theme, “Shaping the Future of Media in the Modern Era.”
The forum brought together officials from the Federal Government and Federal Member States, Banadir administration, media experts and other stakeholders to discuss the development and future of modern media.
Speaking at the conclusion of the forum, Minister Abdulfatah Qasim said the Federal Government attaches particular importance to establishing a sustainable framework to strengthen cooperation between the federal and state levels, particularly in modernising the media sector, advancing government communications, culture and tourism, sharing information, developing professional skills and adapting to modern media developments.
Information Ministers from the Federal Member States and Banadir Regional Administration also presented their views, regional challenges and recommendations on improving cooperation and strengthening the media sector.
The 2nd National Strategic Communication Forum is part of efforts to strengthen consultation, cooperation and coordination among Somalia’s media institutions and to establish a shared direction for the future of the country’s media sector.
