Information Minister Attends Reception Hosted by Russian President

Moscow, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mohamud, on Friday attended a reception hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin for leaders participating in the 12th International Forum of United Cultures.

In his remarks at the reception, President Putin emphasised the role of culture in bringing peoples closer together and sustaining dialogue, even when political and economic relations are disrupted. He also highlighted the importance of protecting diverse cultural identities, engaging young people, and exchanging knowledge and experience.

H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mohamud thanked President Putin and the Russian Government for hosting the forum and for the warm reception, as well as for their role in promoting culture and the arts.

The Minister said Somalia’s participation in the forum provides an important opportunity to showcase the richness of Somali heritage, exchange experiences and build cooperation that benefits Somali cultural institutions, artists and creative communities.
