Information Minister Appoints Technical Committee to Develop Unified National Branding Guidelines

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, H.E. Abdulfataah Qaasim Mohamud, has appointed a 10-member technical committee tasked with preparing Somalia’s unified National Branding Guidelines.
The committee comprises government officials, experts and technical professionals drawn from various institutions, with Abdiraaq Ali Ibrahim appointed as Chairperson and Abdishakur Ali Ahmed as Deputy Chairperson. Mohamed Dubo will serve as the committee’s coordinator.
Other members include legal adviser Abukaate Omar Mohamed Abdulle, Abdinasir Ahmed Bashir, Abdirahman Ahmed Hussein, Yusuf Sheikh Isse, Galad Jama Nur, Osman Habib Osman and Ibrahim Mohamed Nur.
The committee will develop a standardized framework governing the use of logos, symbols, colours and official typography across Federal Government institutions, aimed at strengthening consistency and protecting Somalia’s national identity and symbols.
Minister Abdulfataah Qaasim also established the National Branding Office within the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to support the sustainability and implementation of the initiative and coordinate efforts to unify government branding.
The initiative is expected to enhance the consistency of official government communication and ensure that national symbols and visual identities are used appropriately across federal institutions.
