Hirshabelle State President Casts Vote as Local Elections Continue

Jowhar(SONNA)-Hirshabelle State President and candidate Ali Gudlawe Hussein cast his ballot in Jowhar on Wednesday as voting continued for the Hirshabelle House of Representatives and local councils.

Speaking after voting, Gudlawe described the election day as a significant moment for the people of Hirshabelle and called on voters to cast their ballots for candidates they believe will best serve their interests.

“Today is a great day, as the people of Hirshabelle are lining up at polling stations to cast their votes,” Gudlaawe said, describing the process as historic for Hirshabelle and Somalia.

He said voting was proceeding peacefully across the state and urged voters to give priority to elderly people and other vulnerable groups at polling stations.

Gudlawe congratulated the people of Hirshabelle and expressed hope that the voting process would conclude peacefully.

The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, led by Chairman Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, also inspected polling stations in Jowhar, accompanied by Deputy Chairman Sadiq Abshir Garaad and other commission members.
