Health Minister Orders Halt to Administrative Changes Amid Government Reform

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Aden Abubakar, has directed institutions under the Ministry not to undertake administrative actions, including dismissals, replacements, transfers or new appointments that could disrupt the government’s ongoing civil service reform process.

The Minister’s directive follows an order by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia concerning the restructuring of ministries and government institutions and the implementation of an open, merit-based competitive system grounded in individuals’ qualifications and experience.

H.E. Dr. Ali Haji Aden Abubakar also instructed the institutions to maintain the current administrative arrangements and fully implement the directive pending the issuance of official procedures and guidance on the matter.
