Government Payroll System to Be Linked with National ID

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Government of Somalia is implementing the integration of the Government Payroll/SFMIS system with the National Identification Authority (NIRA).

The Office said that, effective October 1, 2026, government employees who have not yet obtained a National ID are urged to register with NIRA promptly to avoid potential disruptions to their salary payments.

The integration is aimed at strengthening the verification of government employees and improving transparency and efficiency in the management of the public payroll system.
