Family Affairs Minister Presents Family and Children’s Rights Bills to Parliament

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Family Affairs and Human Rights Development, H.E. Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, presented two important Bills before the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia: the Family Affairs Bill and the Children’s Rights Bill.

The Bills are critical to strengthening the legal protection of Somali families and children, safeguarding their rights, dignity and well-being, and ensuring that the most vulnerable are not left behind.

The Minister said the Ministry has a responsibility to advance legislation that responds to the needs of the Somali people, and expressed readiness to work with Members of Parliament to secure the approval and effective implementation of both Bills.
