Body of Veteran Somali Journalist Mohamed Aweys Muudey Arrives in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, (SONNA) — The body of veteran Somali journalist Mohamed Aweys Muudey (Boqorka Bartamaha), who was recently killed in Germany, was brought to Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu today, where government officials and members of the public received it.

A funeral prayer was held for the late journalist, attended by government officials led by the Director General of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Abdullahi Hayir Duale, members of the independent media and the deceased’s family.

Those attending prayed for Allah to grant the deceased mercy and admit him to Paradise, while asking Allah to grant patience and faith to his family and the Somali people.

Journalist Boqorka Bartamaha was a veteran journalist who worked in the profession for more than 50 years. He was also among the journalists of Somalia’s National Media and reported from Germany.
