Banadir Education Directorate Announces Grade 8 National Examination Results

Mogadishu (SONNA) – The General Directorate of Education of the Banadir Regional Administration on Sunday officially announced the results of the Grade 8 certificate examination for the 2025/2026 academic year, with more than 45,000 students from schools across Banadir Region sitting for the examination.

According to the released results, 44,017 students passed the examination, while 1,435 students failed, representing an average failure rate of 3.2 percent.

Sumayo Hassan Abshir Adan secured first place in the Banadir Region Middle School Examination, followed by Balqiisa Mohamed Omar Mohamed in second place. Ahmed Abdinasir Abdullahi Abdi ranked third.

Students who achieved the top positions were presented with awards in recognition of their academic performance and achievements.

The results announcement ceremony was attended by the Governor of Banadir Region, officials from the Regional Education Directorate, and representatives of various sectors of the education community, who congratulated the successful students and wished them continued success in their education and future careers.
