Banadir Administration Launches Reconstruction of Siinaay Market

MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Deputy Governor of Banadir Regional Administration for Security and Political Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yabooh), today laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of Siinaay Market, which was recently demolished and is among the public markets owned by the Mogadishu Municipality.
The project is part of the Banadir Administration’s plan to rebuild and modernize markets across the capital, improve commercial infrastructure and provide traders and the public with better business facilities and a more suitable trading environment.
Mr. Yabooh highlighted the project’s importance to commercial development and the city’s appearance, confirming that traders who previously operated at Siinaay Market would be returned to their former business locations once reconstruction is completed.
The reconstruction is expected to improve market services, enhance the market’s appearance and support the local economy. The foundation-stone ceremony was attended by the Director of the Markets Department, regional and district officials, and members of the local community.
