Auditor General meets Rwandan counterpart in Kigali during regional learning event on public debt management
Ahmed Isse Gutale is in Kigali with a Somali delegation attending an African Development Bank programme on debt transparency and accountability in transition states.

Kigali (SONNA) - The Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ahmed Isse Gutale, has met the Auditor General of Rwanda, Alexis Kamuhire, during a visit to the Office of the Auditor General of Rwanda in Kigali.
The two Auditors General discussed strengthening relations and cooperation between their offices, and the exchange of knowledge and experience in audit work, transparency and accountability in public finances.
Gutale is in Kigali for the PFMA Spotlight Learning on Public Debt Management in Transition States, a learning event organised by the African Development Institute of the African Development Bank. The event, which runs from 28 September to 2 October, focuses on strengthening the capacity of government institutions in debt transparency, accountability and the sound management of public finances.
The Somali delegation also includes the Accountant General of the Federal Government, Mohamed Mohamud Abdulle, and the Deputy Chair of the Finance Committee of the House of the People, MP Mohamed Haroun Abdullahi.
More than 20 African countries are taking part, together with international organisations, sharing knowledge, experience and approaches to strengthening the management of public debt, financial transparency and accountability.
According to the Office of the Auditor General, its participation in the event and the visit to its Rwandan counterpart are part of its efforts to build shared expertise and understanding on public debt, and to support transparency, accountability and the sound management of public finances in Somalia.
