Acting President meets UK Ambassador in Mogadishu, discusses strengthening relations

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Acting President and the Speaker of the Parliament of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe) received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Somalia, Amb. Mike Nithavrianakis in Mogadishu.

The Speaker and the Ambassador discussed strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations and cooperation in common interests.

Ambassador Mike assured the Chairman of the House of the People that the UK is ready to support Somalia and continue their longstanding partnership.

Speaker Madobe briefed the Ambassador on the successes of the government and said that Somalia has made huge improvements in the fields of politics, security, finance and the fight against the Al-Shabaab terrorists and ways to eliminate them from the country.
