27 killed in wave of Israeli attacks on enclave

The Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis is at “breaking point” and risks being overwhelmed amid a surge in Israeli attacks, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has said.

The “continuous cycle” of mass displacement of civilians in Gaza and people being in “survival mode” and “despair” must stop, the director of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, has said.

Medical sources have told Al Jazeera Arabic that 27 people were killed in Gaza from dawn on Friday as reports emerge that two Palestinian journalists were among those killed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that gaps remain between parties after Israel’s Mossad chief left Doha following a meeting with mediators over Gaza ceasefire talks, adding that talks will resume next week.

The death toll from an Israeli raid into Jenin in the occupied West Bank has risen to seven, as Israeli incursions into towns and cities in the area continue.

At least 38,011 people have been killed and 87,445 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7. The death toll in Israel from the Hamas-led attacks is estimated at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza.
