BUCHAREST, (SONNA) – At least one person was killed and 46 injured Saturday in explosions that occurred at an unlicensed gas station in Romania.
The explosion occurred in the Crevedia district in the northeast of Bucharest city center.
Romanian Health Ministry official Raed Arafat said four of the injured are in serious condition and they have been transported to Italy and Belgium for treatment.
He said 26 firefighters who tried to extinguish the fire after the first explosion were injured and taken to the hospital after a second blast.
Authorities said the first explosion occurred when gas was filled at the unlicensed station.
