Mogadishu, (SONNA) \u2014 The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan today launched a consultative meeting in Mogadishu on the establishment of Somalia\u2019s National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF), bringing together representatives from government institutions, Federal Member States, international partners, local organizations, and civil society.<\/p>\n

Participants discussed the proposed structure of the fund and its role in strengthening Somalia\u2019s capacity to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters, while sharing recommendations to ensure its effective implementation and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan emphasized the importance of inclusive collaboration among all stakeholders to establish a strong and effective financing mechanism that supports disaster risk management and resilience-building efforts across the country.<\/p>\n
