MOGADISHU (SONNA)<\/b> \u2014 The Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye have advanced their bilateral partnership following a high-level diplomatic meeting at the Ministry of Information headquarters in the capital. The Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, H.E. Abdifitah Qasim, received the Ambassador of T\u00fcrkiye to Somalia, H.E. Alper Akta\u015f, to engineer a comprehensive framework focused on media modernization, institutional capacity building, and cross-cultural exchange programs.<\/p>\n

The bilateral negotiations center on establishing structural cooperation between the state broadcasting architectures of both nations. The strategic alignment aims to modernize Somalia\u2019s public information systems by integrating advanced media technologies and launching joint production initiatives with Turkish state media networks. This technical cooperation will provide Somali media professionals with specialized training in investigative journalism, digital archiving, and broadcast engineering, effectively raising the national media output to international benchmarks.<\/p>\n

Beyond technical synchronization, the meeting addressed the preservation of cultural heritage and the revitalization of tourism infrastructure along the Somali coastline. Minister Abdifitah Qasim highlighted that the deep-rooted relationship between Mogadishu and Ankara serves as a powerful foundation for expanding economic and social cooperation.
