A group of foreign ministers from across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia have issued a strong joint statement condemning Israel\u2019s announcement to appoint a diplomatic representative to the so-called \u201cSomaliland,\u201d describing the move as a direct violation of Somalia\u2019s sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
The statement was jointly issued by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Bangladesh, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, T\u00fcrkiye, Indonesia, Pakistan, Kuwait, Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman.<\/p>\n
In the joint communiqu\u00e9, the ministers declared:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Republic of the Sudan, the State of Libya, the People\u2019s Republic of Bangladesh, the People\u2019s the Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the State of Kuwait, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman express their strongest condemnation of Israel\u2019s announcement of the appointment of a diplomatic representative to the so-called \u201cSomaliland\u201d, which is considered a flagrant violation of the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.\u201d<\/p>\n The ministers reaffirmed their collective stance against any unilateral actions that undermine the sovereignty of states or threaten their territorial unity. They emphasized their full support for Somalia\u2019s unity and its legitimate institutions as the sole representatives of the Somali people.<\/p>\n They further stated:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe Ministers reaffirm their unequivocal rejection of all unilateral measures that undermine the unity of states or infringe upon their sovereignty. They further underscore their firm and unwavering support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, as well as for its legitimate state institutions, being the sole representative of the will of the Somali people.\u201d<\/p>\n The statement also highlighted the broader implications of such actions, warning of risks to regional stability and international norms.
