Mogadishu, (SONNA) \u2014 The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali held high-level talks at the ministry headquarters with China\u2019s Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, Hu Changchun, focusing on deepening bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

The discussions centered on the strategic importance of Somalia\u2013China ties, with both sides engaging in in-depth deliberations on enhancing cooperation across key sectors.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s envoy reaffirmed Beijing\u2019s firm support for Somalia\u2019s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, while also highlighting the longstanding historical ties between the two countries. He underscored Somalia\u2019s geostrategic importance as a vital corridor for global trade and connectivity.<\/p>\n

The Somali government reiterated its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in priority areas.<\/p>\n

China expressed readiness to work closely with Somalia to advance shared interests, support Somali-led initiatives, and strengthen cooperation on peace and security, particularly within international frameworks.<\/p>\n

Both sides also discussed expanding collaboration in fisheries and the blue economy, recognizing their importance for sustainable economic growth and the effective utilization of Somalia\u2019s vast maritime resources.<\/p>\n
