Nairobi, SONNA \u2014<\/strong> The Federal Government of Somalia has officially inaugurated a new office of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) at the Somali Embassy in Nairobi, marking a significant step toward expanding essential public services to citizens living abroad.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony was led by Somalia\u2019s Ambassador to Kenya, Ambassador Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, alongside the Director of NIRA, Abdiweli Ali Abdulle. The event, held at the embassy premises, was attended by diplomats and senior officials.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of the National Identification and Registration Authority, Mr. Abdiweli Ali Abdulle, indicated that the work of the Agency has been expanded, and that the embassy will be the 30th to be established by the NIRA Office.<\/p>\n

The establishment of the office aims to facilitate access to national identification services for Somali citizens residing in Kenya, reducing the need to travel back home for documentation.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, the Ambassador of the Government of Somalia to Kenya, noted that from now on, the Somali community will have the opportunity to obtain identity cards from the Embassy.<\/p>\n

The move is part of the government\u2019s broader efforts to strengthen service delivery, enhance national identification systems, and improve engagement with the Somali diaspora.<\/p>\n
