Mogadishu, (SONNA) \u2014 The Commander of the Somali National Army, Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud, has directed all units of the Somali National Army to fully engage in emergency response and humanitarian assistance for civilians affected by severe drought in parts of the country.<\/p>\n
In his directive, the Army Commander urged SNA personnel to demonstrate their national and humanitarian responsibility by leading rescue operations and standing in solidarity with vulnerable communities. Units have been instructed to deliver water, food, medical supplies, and any other assistance within their capacity to help ease the hardships caused by the ongoing drought.<\/p>\n
Brig. Gen. Mohamud emphasized that the Somali National Army is committed to defending the nation, its people, and its faith, noting that it has a national duty to support communities during crises such as droughts, floods, and other natural disasters.<\/p>\n
